Apparently, yes, there are rumors that the famed country singer is in a relationship with a female friend! But according to Dolly, the rumors are just a load of bull. Dolly was on Nightline where she set the record straight on the rumors of a secret lesbian relationship with gal pal Judy Ogle. “Judy and I have been best friends since we were like in the third and fourth grade,” Parton explained. “We still just have a great friendship and relationship and I love her as much as I love anybody in the whole world, but we’re not romantically involved.” The singer, who has been married to a man for 46 years, then likened her situation to Oprah Winfrey who has dealt with the rumor that she and Gayle King have been in a relationship for years. “Like Gayle, her friend, Judy, my friend … [people] just think that you just can’t be that close to somebody.” Dolly says she and Oprah have bonded over their similar lesbian rumors and are good friends.
