Beyonce Sings National Anthem… For Real This Time (Video) Jan 31st 2013, 22:13 In an attempt to salvage her image, Beyonce took the stage at the Super Bowl news conference and belted out her LIVE version of the "Star-Spangled Banner." Not surprisingly, she knocked it out of the park and gave us all what we wanted the first time around… a real performance! We all know Beyonce can sing, she has an amazing voice and she proved it today on live television without the help of lip-syncing or a back track. Beyonce totally delivered an awesome performance. Sure a few parts could have been polished, but it was that realness that made it so much better. After finishing the national anthem Beyonce looked out into the audience and asked, "Any questions?" During the conference Beyonce admitted to lip-syncing at the Presidential Inauguration, but says it was because she wanted it to be perfect. “I am a perfectionist … I did not have time to rehearse with the orchestra [at the Inauguration]," explains Bey. "It was a live television show and a very important moment for me.” “Due to the weather, due to the delay, due to no proper sound check, I did not feel comfortable taking the risk … so I decided to sing along with my pre-recorded track, which is very common in the music industry. And I'm very proud of my performance.” Then a reporter asked if she planned on singing live at the Super Bowl, to which she replied, "I always sing live." Always? Let's be real Beyonce.
