NFL Hall of Fame quarterback and current CBS analyst Dan Marino fathered a love child with a CBS employee, then paid her to keep it under wraps.

The New York Post reported that Marino had an affair with former CBS Sports production assistant Donna Savattere, and the two had a daughter, Chloe, in June 2005.

"They had an affair, and she had a baby," said a source. "Everything was on the down-low and secretive."

News of the affair and child comes as Marino is set to work Sunday's big "Super Bowl Today" telecast.

Marino addressed the story in a written statement Wednesday morning.

"This is a personal and private matter. I take full responsibility both personally and financially for my actions now as I did then. We mutually agreed to keep our arrangement private to protect all parties involved."

Marino insisted that his marriage is still intact, despite the affair.

"My wife and I have been married for almost 30 years and have six children together," he wrote yesterday — which happened to be his 28th wedding anniversary.

"And we continue to be a strong and loving family."

A CBS spokeswoman told the Palm Beach Post that “Dan has said all there is to say on this matter, and will be in his usual role on our broadcast Super Bowl Sunday.”

Marino retired from football in 1999 and began appearing on "The NFL Today" in 2003.
