Now that the holiday season is over, so is the excessive consumption of cakes, cookies, and for the cheap people I know, gifts of pound cake drizzled with icing as gifts.
From Halloween to New Years Eve, we all tend to add a few extra pounds to our normal body weight. When we finally hop on the scale and notice the weight gain we wonder, "HOW COULD THIS BE?!" Do we rush to our doctor's and claim, "something must be wrong with my metabolism" or simply close our mouths to the yummy indulgences, because a moment on the lips is a lifetime on the hips.
We all over indulge during the holidays, then we ALL want that quick fix of losing extra weight. I do have my top three Fad Diets that I’ve found to work first hand, but we’ll go over those in a minute.
I recently went to the doctor and after noticing some weight gain the doctor asked, "Are you stressed?" I felt like responding with, "No, but I got into an argument with an Oreo Cheesecake and it won." I simply said, "Eh it's the holiday season."
Don't get bothered by holiday weight gain, and don't buy new expensive clothing to fit your extra pounds. Honey, that's why they invented spandex. They have cozy spandex for chilling around your house or apartment — leather, crocodile, you name it. Granted, how much the weight gain will determine if you should even be in spandex. I mean, lets be real, spandex should be illegal on some people. But it is true, that fabric does stretch and shrink with you.
I see all these "celebrities" coming out saying how they lost all this weight doing it the healthy way, diet and exercise blah blah blah, kind of like Kim Kardashian's diet pills. Don't mess with any of those diet pills, they mess with your heart rate. You need to jump start your weight loss with a fad diet in my opinion.
The one person I can't stand is Kelley Osbourne. Like we GET IT, you lost weight. Enough already. Stop making the media rounds on how "skinny you are" and "how you're not a fat girl anymore".
Never mind Kelly's constant tearing into Christina Aguilera for her weight gain. Hypocrite much?
Sheesh, you would think Kelly would have a little more compassion towards people going through weight issues, since she’s been packing a few extra pounds for the majority of her life. Also, not sure if Kelly missed the memo, but she isn’t "SKINNY" she's "normal weight". It's all relative. Kelly's no Aguilera in her heyday back in that Dirty music video.
While speaking with Fabulous magazine recently about her weight loss, Kelly claimed that Lady Gaga‘s fans have been taunting her, calling her “fat” and urging her to kill herself. That interview sparked an open letter from Gaga.
“Your work on E! with the Fashion Police is rooted in criticism, judgment, and rating people’s beauty against one another. "Appearance" is the most used reason for bullying in the world,” Gaga wrote. “To see you blossoming into a beautiful slender woman who makes fun of others for a living is astounding. Why not help others?”
Kelly Osbourne promptly responded to Gaga's open letter on Twitter stating, “Hope you guys realize that I don’t care about any of this bullsh–! I know who I am I don’t need anyone to tell me!"
Kelly's mother, Sharon Osborne, wasn’t too fond of Gaga's letter either as she decided to write an open letter of her own on Facebook.
“You say [Kelly's] work on E! with the Fashion Police is ‘rooted in criticism, judgment, and rating people's beauty against one another.’ Welcome to the real world, Sharon wrote. “By your actions to Kelly right now, you have shown me that you are nothing more than a publicity seeking hypocrite and an attention seeker.”
Kelly should leave the fashion police and be a contestant on Ru Paul’s Drag Race.
This is what Christina has to say to Kelly.
Weight loss should be something done for yourself, if you're the type of girl who gains weight around holiday time like myself, then Food faddism is the way to go.
The Top Three Fad Diets in my opinion are: The Cabbage Soup Diet (don't exceed more than 7 days – lose a quick 8 pounds), The protein Shake Diet (I use Herbalife or Jay Robb and replace three meals a day with the shakes for a week) and the 3rd, is the BluePrint Cleanse (consists of a 3 day supply or a 6 day supply). If you want more information on the cleanse program, visit their website: http://blueprintcleanse.com/. My favorite quick-fix is replacing one meal with a protein shake and light soups for a week.
In a nut shell, to lose a quick ten pounds just stick to a clean diet consisting primarily of liquids, low sugar and low carbs with a lot of fruits, veggies, salads, and soups. CUT OUT dessert. If you're like me, where you can't just have one piece, then cut it out. Don't even have the first bite.
I promise everyone out there, if you follow one of these fad diets, it will work. You lose 8-10 pounds in a week. Mostly all water weight and probably not the healthiest way, but that's why they are done only for a week and called fad diets. I'm not a nutritionist I'm just a woman who likes a quick fix like the rest of us. I even tried Beyonce‘s “Lemonade Diet" last year after the holidays, but that only lasted about 48 hrs. Way too hard.
Damn the Holiday weight gain and Yummy foodgasms but oh so worth it!
Cabbage Soup Recipe –
6 large green onions (also called "spring" onions)
2 green peppers
1 or 2 cans of tomatoes (diced or whole)
3 carrots
1 container (10 oz. or so) mushrooms
1 bunch of celery
half a head of cabbage
1 package spice only soup mix (In the US, Liptons is a good choice)
1 or 2 cubes of bouillon (optional)
1 48oz can Low Sodium V8 juice (optional)
Season to taste with pepper, parsley, curry, garlic powder, etc. (Little to NO SALT!)
Directions:
Slice green onions, put in a pot on medium heat and start to sauté with cooking spray. Do this until the onions are whiter/clearer in color (about 4-6 minutes). Cut green pepper stem end off, then cut pepper in half to take out the seeds and membrane. Cut the green pepper into bite size pieces and add to pot. Take the outer leafs layers off the cabbage, cut into bite size pieces, add to pot. Clean carrots, mushrooms, and celery, cut into bite size pieces and toss them in. Add tomatoes now, too. If you would like a spicy soup, add a small amount of curry or cayenne pepper now. For seasonings, you can use a spice soup packet of your choice (no noodles!) or use beef or chicken bouillon cubes. These cubes are optional, and you can add spices you like instead (make sure not to add much salt, if any at all). Use about 12 cups of water (or 8 cups and the 48 oz of Low Sodium V8 juice), cover and put heat on low. Let soup simmer for a long time – about 2 hours or until vegetables are tender.
