Jodie Foster Comes Out As Gay During Golden Globes Speech (Video) Jan 14th 2013, 07:53 Jodie Foster caught the audience by surprise during the Golden Globes telecast. The 50-year-old actress, who has long kept her private life as guarded as anyone in Hollywood, came as close as she ever has to outing herself publicly as a lesbian as she accepted the Cecille B. DeMille Award for lifetime achievement during Sunday’s ceremony. Jodie started off her acceptance speech admitting her advancing age, which is a rare thing indeed in Hollywood. She also outed herself … as being single. “I already did my coming-out speech back in the stone age,” she said. “Now, apparently, I’m told that every celebrity is expected to honor the details of their private life with a press conference, a fragrance and a prime-time reality show.” Jodie thanked her two sons, Charles and Christopher Foster, making reference to their "modern family" that they shared with the woman long rumored to be her partner saying, “one of the deepest loves of my life, my heroic co-parent, my ex-partner in love but righteous soul sister in life… Thank you Cyd, I am so proud of our modern family.” Amy Poehler, with Tina Fey by her side, ended the show by saying, “Thank you very much.
