Steven Spielberg In Talks For A 'Gremlins' Remake

Could Steven Spielberg's classic 1984 "Gremlins" movie be getting remade?

Apparently, producers are in negotiations with Spielberg's production company regarding the rights to the possible project… I’m not sure how I feel about this.

"Gremlins" is the classic horror/comedy about a young man who is given a very cute, but potentially dangerous pet and of course chaos ensues. It's a must see!

The reboot has been planned for quite some time now, but it was being held back because of money issues with Spielberg. Also he wants to be involved with the film and refuses to let Warner Bros. just run off and do whatever they want with it.

"This wouldn't be something Spielberg would direct, of course – he only executive produced the original, with Joe Dante behind the camera – but it never hurts to have the Great Man's name on your project," says a source.

But apparently now things are finally coming together and it looks like the film could definitely be a possibility.

Ugh, let's just hope if this does happen that it's good. Please no CGI gremlins… PLEASE!

Would you want to see a "Gremlins" remake, or do you think they should leave the classic alone?
