DJs Responsible For Hospital Prank/Suicide Quit Radio Dec 7th 2012, 21:12 The Australian DJs responsible for the Kate Middleton hospital prank and eventual nurse suicide have made the decision to leave radio. The decision comes after news broke that a nurse, who fell for the DJs' prank earlier this week, committed suicide. For those unaware, DJs Mel Greig and Michael Christian pranked a nurse by pretending to be the Queen of England and were able to obtain confidential medical info about Kate Middleton while she was in the hospital! The embarrassment of the prank and media frenzy over the scandal led to the nurse, Jacintha Saldanha, committing suicide. "[Southern Cross Austereo] and 2Day FM are deeply saddened by the tragic news of the death of nurse Jacintha Saldanha from King Edward VII's Hospital,” said SCA, the company that owns the station. “SCA and the hosts have decided that they will not return to their radio show until further notice out of respect for what can only be described as a tragedy.” So that's the end of those two's careers.
